Does that one pair of pants just feel off? Have an old suit collecting dust? Did a “final sale” show up and look nothing like the photo? Does your kid never stop growing? Whatever it may be, there’s a tailor for that…
Focuses
I aim to provide an experience where my clients leave with perfect fits and more knowledge about their wardrobe than they had before. I also seek to provide something that adds a little more luxury into my clients’ everyday lives. By slowing down my process, I can achieve the utmost focus and care when working with your pieces, no matter what they are. In a world with non-stop marketing, 3-second-trends, and landfills full of textile waste, even one hem can make a difference.
-
Original and couture finishing are techniques I employ to ensure the longevity of garments. Using a mixture of machine and hand-sewing, every piece that comes under my presser-foot leaves the workshop looking as though nothing was ever done. I replicate the exact conditions a garment was made in — everything from stitch length to thread composition.
-
Every garment that gets trimmed or cut also gets recycled for future use. When your dress gets hemmed, the excess textile may become a facing or a pocket square in the future. Always use the whole animal.
-
(Almost) No garment is too old or tattered to become something new and beautiful again. I have turned bags into journals covers, poofy 80s wedding gowns into dressing robes, and so much more. Even if you love a piece but hate the stitching, that can be changed, too.
-
In the case of heirlooms, cherished pieces, even stuffed animals, restoration is possible, too. Creative problem solving is one of my biggest strengths. With the exclusion of chemical preservation, I can make a myriad of garments look brand new.
